Bleiwäsche with 970 inhabitants is the southernmost tip of the Paderborn district and is located directly at the gateway to the Sauerland. Bleiwäsche is a quiet and contemplative place, which impresses above all with its diverse nature and its excellent hiking opportunities.

The urban area of Bad Wünnenberg includes 7 villages with approx. 12,000 inhabitants.

The core town of Bad Wünnenberg, about 7 km away, is the only one  Kneipp spa   in Ostwestfalen/Lippe and offers numerous attractions and shopping opportunities.

The Aatal nature experience, surrounded by forests and hills, is worth a trip, especially for families. In addition to a 1 km long barefoot path and the wild animal enclosure, the Aatal-Haus offers a place to go for coffee and cake and small dishes. A new downhill trail created in 2021 ensures action.

There is also an indoor and outdoor swimming pool in the immediate vicinity, as well as several Kneipp oases and hiking trails.

The three large adjoining tourist areas Sauerland, Paderborner Land and Teutoburg Forest offer a variety of excursions, sights and entertainment for young and old.
